The Patriots will have their hands full in the semifinals when they face No. 2 Ralston Valley next week at the Denver Coliseum. No. 2 Ralston Valley defeated No. 18 Regis Jesuit, 60-43, on Tuesday to advance to the semifinals.
No. 1 Chaparral defeated No. 16 Brighton, 70-43, in the Sweet Sixteen, playing in their own gym. Junior Luke Howery led the way with 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists in the Chaparral rout. Junior Christian Williams assisted with 20 points and three rebounds in the win. Next up for Chaparral is No. 8 Mountain Vista at the Coliseum next Thursday. Mountain Vista advanced after their 78-56 win over No. 24 Northfield.
Two matchups took place in the Sweet Sixteen: No. 3 Rangeview defeated No. 14 ThunderRidge, 84-63, and No. 6 Cherry Creek beat No. 11 Fossil Ridge, 63-51. Cherry Creek will now face No. 3 Rangeview in the semifinals. The tournament moves to the Denver Coliseum, with games on Thursday and Friday and the championship on Saturday, March 14.
