Eric Nelson, an ordained minister and Vice President‑at‑Large of the Greater Metro Denver Ministerial Alliance (GMDMA), will not appear on the June 30, 2026, State Primary ballot for Colorado House District 42, which represents Aurora, Colorado. The Colorado Secretary of State’s Elections Division, on February 19, confirmed that of the 1,635 signatures submitted by Nelson’s campaign, only 29 were valid — far short of the 1,000 required under Colorado law to qualify for the ballot.

In a media statement, the GMDMA said, “The Greater Metro Denver Ministerial Alliance holds its leadership to the highest standards of integrity and public trust. We are treating these confirmed reports from the Secretary of State with the utmost seriousness.” The organization noted more than 940 submitted signatures lacked corresponding Colorado voter records and pledged to review the matter carefully.

Democratic Rep. Mandy Lindsay currently holds the District 42 seat; she was first appointed in 2022 and ran unopposed in 2024.
