Community Food Assistance Resources

The Denver Weekly News is pleased to inform all community members about a variety of upcoming food resource events and ongoing assistance programs in our area and other parts of the city. These opportunities are available to help ensure that everyone has access to nutritious food. Please review the following list for details on regular food pantry hours, special pop-up distributions, and holiday meal programs.

Food Banks and Pantries

Bienvenidos Food Bank (Denver):

Open every Thursday for food distribution at 3810 Pecos St. Check their site for hours, which are typically 3:30 pm–5:30 pm. Visit https://bienvenidosfoodbank.org for more information on what to bring.

Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry (Aurora):

Our Brick and Mortar Pantry will provide 7-9 days’ worth of fresh meat, vegetables, fruits, and shelf-stable food.  Call to make a same-day appointment, 303-360-0260. Visit https://www.aurorainterfaith.org for more information.

Little Flower Assistance Center (Aurora):

The Catholic Charities’ Little Flower Assistance Center serves individuals and families facing crisis in the city of Aurora and those residing in Denver zip codes 80231, 80239, and 80249 from 9:30 am — 3:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The address is 11149 E 14th Avenue, Aurora, CO 80010. The Senior Food Assistance Program takes place on the second Monday of each month. Visit ccdenver.org/food for the registration process.

Jewish Family Service - Weinberg Food Pantry (Denver):

Open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 am–1:00 pm. The last Wednesday of the month is 3:30 pm–5:30 pm. Registration is required; jewishfamilyservice.org

Colorado Community Church’s More Life Community Center Marketplace (Aurora):

Open to anyone in need of food on Wednesdays from 10:30 am–12:30 pm and 5:30 pm–7:30 pm. Reservations are required and open on Mondays at 10:00 am. Visit coloradocommunity.org/mlcc to register or for more information.

Pop-up Community Food Share

Kaizen Food Rescue hosts multiple Community Pop-up Food Shares that are free and open to all with no ID required.

Tuesday, October 28 (SW Denver): 1:00 pm–2:30 pm at the end of Bates and Raritan Strts..
