Colorado Generosity Hits Record $56.5 Million on Gives Day

Summary
Colorado’s nonprofit community is celebrating a historic milestone: donors contributed $56.5 million during Colorado Gives Day 2025, smashing previous records. Over 102,835 people participated, making 261,513 donations to support 4,618 nonprofits statewide.
“This year, the need was greater than ever, and Coloradans once again showed why our state is one of the most charitable in the nation,” said Kelly Dunkin, president and CEO of the Colorado Gives Foundation. The event was boosted by a $1 million+ incentive fund from the foundation and presenting sponsor FirstBank, encouraging donors to amplify their impact.
The giving streak included 616 first-time nonprofits and an average of 2.37 organizations per donor, with contributions ranging from $100—the most common gift—to a single $250,000 donation. Donations flowed to a broad range of causes, with top sectors including Human Services ($10.8M), Arts & Culture ($6.3M), Education ($6.2M), Animal Welfare ($5.7M), and Food & Nutrition ($4.5M).
Nonprofits praised the outpouring of support. “This generosity energizes us to expand programs that celebrate culture and strengthen our community,” said Roselle Drahushak-Crow of Atomic Theater. Beyond one-time gifts, more than 7,000 new monthly donations were established, providing nonprofits with ongoing funding throughout the year.
Since its inception in 2010, Colorado Gives Day has raised over $581 million, solidifying its reputation as one of the nation’s most impactful philanthropic movements. This year’s success was amplified by creative initiatives like the Community of Givers selfie campaign, connecting donors statewide in real time.
Colorado’s philanthropic momentum shows no signs of slowing, proving that when communities come together, generosity knows no bounds.
