Returning home after a brutal road trip, the Denver Broncos will look to turn things around with a national television audience on Monday Night Football. After losing two consecutive games in walk-off, game-ending goals, the Broncos have put themselves in a must-win situation in order to save their season from a total early-season collapse.

The game will be a rematch of one of the most exciting games of the season last year, when the Broncos fell in overtime to the Bengals in a Saturday Night barnburner, 30-24. However, this time around, the game will not carry the same type of hype that went into last season’s matchup. Bengals’ star quarterback, Joe Burrow, was sidelined with an injury last week that could keep him out for as long as three months. The Bengals, now 2-1, have backup quarterback Jake Browning playing in his seventh season, fifth with the Bengals.

Browning and the Bengals lost to the Minnesota Vikings, who were also using their backup quarterback, 48-10, last Sunday. With five turnovers, it was the worst loss in Bengals history. Given the turn of events with the Bengals without Burrow, the Broncos have been given a prime opportunity in what would be considered a get-right game.

Left tackle Garett Bolles emphasized the Broncos’ confidence in their ability to make the necessary corrections and improve ahead of a “Monday Night Football” matchup with the Bengals. “At the end of the day, our season’s not over, Bolles said. “We lost two close games. This team is full of studs, and we’ve just got to find a way to win. Obviously, the ball’s not bouncing our way, but it’s not just going to give us a reason to give up. We’ve got to keep fighting. We’ve got to stay positive in this locker room — which I know we’re going to — get back to work and find a way to win.”
